Join Us CGMC is not only about creating superior quality musical shows, we're also about having a great time doing it! Our members come from a myriad of musical levels and experience. CGMC's reputation for tongue-in-cheek humor has earned us the nickname "the fun chorus." Fun has not stopped us from performing challenging and thought-provoking productions. Creating quality music is paramount in our minds. We have found over the years that the sense of family created within the chorus often leads to life-long friendships. Auditions and Sections The Artistic Director will hold a private auditions for each new singing member. Preparation for this audition is not required. At this audition, you will be assigned to the section that is appropriate to your vocal range. The sections of CGMC are as follows, from highest vocal part to lowest: First Tenor Second Tenor Baritone Bass Each of these sections is also divided into upper and lower sections. This is done both to enhance the sound of CGMC, as well as make our members more comfortable with their assigned singing section. Auditions are held in the beginning of both September and January. E-mail our Audition Coordinator to schedule audition times. CGMC also has a non-singing Support section, for those who do not wish to sing, but are interested in being a part of the chorus family. Members of this prestigious section help the chorus at rehearsals and shows, distribute music and literature, arrange ushers, help sell our CD's and assist in many different ways. No audition is necessary for this section, of course, but if you choose to do so, our Artistic Director has ear plugs. :-)

Attendance Each CGMC member is expected to attend all rehearsals during a concert prep period. However, an attendance at 75% of rehearsals during each prep period is required to sing in a performance. No Exceptions!

Rehearsals CGMC rehearses every Sunday, September through June, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, with certain Sundays off after each concert. Additional rehearsals may be called at the discretion of the Artistic Director or choreographer.

Dues Each CGMC member pays $20.00 monthly dues for the ten-month season, or discounted annual dues of $160.00 if paid in full at the beginning of the season. Financial assistance is available to those who could not otherwise afford to participate in the Chorus.
